The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) offers a number of different resources for job seekers, employers and young people to make the most of a career in plastics.

    Encourage younger employees to get involved with Future Leaders in Plastics (FLiP), which gives them a venue to network and grow as plastics professionals.

  • For Young People

    Join Future Leaders in Plastics (FLiP), which givesaccess to a network of mentors and professionals across the plastics supply chain. The Plastics Industry Association partners with the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) to sponsor the PlastiVan, an internationally-acclaimed education program that inspires a new generation of scientists and innovators by visiting schools across the country.   • 2018 + 2019 Best Manufacturing Associations to Work for

    PLASTICS was named two years in a row as one of the Best Manufacturing Associations to Work for. In 2018, this program was created by the National Association of Manufacturers’ Council of Manufacturing Associations in partnership with Best Companies Group.

    This survey-and-awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best employers among manufacturing associations, benefiting the industry's economy, workforce, and businesses. The list is made up of 10 associations. PLASTICS has been named as one of this year’s Best Manufacturing Associations to Work for.

    “The NAM is proud to recognize and congratulate these outstanding associations for building exemplary work environments,” said NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons. “Manufacturing is about people, and that is just as true on the shop floor as it is in our associations and advocacy work. We’re dedicated to helping all of our CMA members identify best practices and learn from each other. Celebrating the best of the best helps all of us succeed.”

    “Each and every day, these organizations are showing how careers supporting manufacturing can be fun, fulfilling and flexible—not just a good paycheck,” said CMA Executive Director Tonya Muse. “We’re proud to recognize every one of our CMA partners that is being honored this year and we look forward to recognizing even more outstanding partners in the years to come.”

    To be considered for participation, associations had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

    • Must be a manufacturing trade association representing manufacturers in the United States (501 c6)
    • Have an office in the United States
    • Have a minimum of 15 employees working in the United States; and
    • Must be in business a minimum of 1 year

    Associations from across the country entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Manufacturing Associations to Work for. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated association’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top associations and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data, and determined the final rankings.

    The ranked companies were recognized in August 2019, during the CMA Summer Leadership Conference in Charleston, SC.
