The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) has been a vocal opponent of proposals to impose tariffs on plastic products, materials and machinery. Instead of leveling the playing field, tariffs can put us at odds with our allies, create market anxieties and take us away from freer trade, which benefits the plastics industry and the global economy as a whole.

PLASTICS continues to fight on behalf of the industry and to promote free trade on Capitol Hill, in the White House, in legislatures across the country and in capitals across the globe. Below you’ll find links to U.S. government sites to get the most updated information on tariffs in force and resources you can use to apply for an exemption from the aluminum and steel tariffs.

PLASTICS is eager to help its members comply with tariff and trade rules, and to connect plastics companies with federal officials who can provide them with additional information and answers to their most important questions about trade and tariff policies. Contact us using the email address below to offer your constructive comments and to ask questions about the impact tariffs have on your business. PLASTICS can share your experiences and concerns with officials in the Administration and with other policymakers.
